If your SSL certificate is taking longer than expected to be issued, you dont have to guess where it is in the process. At Nixzoehost, we provide a built-in status tracker directly within your dashboard that allows you to monitor the progress of your validation in real-time.
While the backend technology is powered by the Certificate Authority, you can manage everything right here without ever leaving your account.
How to Check Your SSL Order Status
To see the current state of your certificate, follow these steps:
-
Log in to your Nixzoehost Client Area.
-
Navigate to SSL Certificates in the left-hand sidebar.
-
Find your specific order and click the Manage button.
-
Look for the Status field. It will display one of the following real-time updates:
Status Legend
-
Pending: You have started the process, but the Certificate Authority is waiting for you to complete the validation (Email, DNS, or HTTP).
-
In Progress: The CA is currently scanning your server or waiting for the automated verification to clear.
-
Brand Validation: Your domain has triggered a manual security review (common for trademarked terms). This may take 2448 hours.
-
Issued: Validation is complete! Your certificate files are ready for download or automatic installation.
Using the Nixzoehost External Lookup Tool
If you have already installed your SSL and want to verify that it is working correctly for your visitors, you can use our Public SSL Checker.
-
Go to our SSL Tools page.
-
Enter your domain name (e.g.,
yoursite.com). -
Click Check SSL.
This tool will verify the "Chain of Trust" and confirm that your certificate is properly installed, showing you the expiration date and the encryption strength (RSA or ECC).
Why is my status stuck on "Pending"?
If your status hasn't moved in over an hour, it usually means the automated "bot" from the Certificate Authority couldn't find your validation record.
-
For Email: Check your spam folder or resend the email via the dashboard.
-
For DNS: Ensure your CNAME record has fully propagated (use a tool like DNSChecker.org).
-
For HTTP: Ensure the file is placed in the
.well-known/pki-validation/folder and is not being blocked by a firewall.
Need to change your method?
If you realize you can't access the email address you originally selected, or if the HTTP file upload isn't working, you can click "Change Validation Method" inside the Nixzoehost SSL manager at any time to try a different approach.
