Clearing Your Cache: Browser vs. Server Print

  • 0

"Cache" is just a fancy word for "saved data." However, knowing which cache to clear can be the difference between seeing your website updates and seeing a month-old version.

Type Where it lives What it does When to clear it
Browser Cache On your computer/phone. Saves images and CSS so you don't have to download them every visit. When you change your logo or site colors and they aren't appearing.
Server Cache On Nixzoehost servers. Saves "pre-built" versions of your pages (LSCache) to reduce server load. When you update a blog post or price on your site but the public still sees the old one.

Pro Tip: If you're using WordPress on Nixzoehost, you can usually clear your Server Cache with one click using the "Purge All" button in the top toolbar of your admin dashboard.
