How to recognize a spoof or phishing email Print

  • 0

Phishing is the most common way hackers gain access to accounts. These are fraudulent emails designed to look like they came from Nixzoehost, tricking you into providing your password or credit card details.

The "Red Flags" of a Phishing Email

  • The Sender's Address: Hover your mouse over the "From" name. A real Nixzoehost email will always end in @nixzoehost.com. If you see @nixzoe-support-security.net or a Gmail address, it is a scam.

  • The Urgent Tone: Scammers use fear. Phrases like "Your account will be deleted in 2 hours" or "Urgent: Suspension scheduled" are designed to make you act without thinking.

  • The Link Destination: Hover your mouse over any button or link without clicking. Look at the bottom corner of your browser. If the URL doesn't lead to https://nixzoehost.com, do not click it.

  • Generic Greetings: We know your name. A real email from us will usually say "Hi [Your Name]", not "Dear Valued Customer" or "Dear User".

Nixzoehost Golden Rule: We will never ask you for your login password or your full credit card number via email. If an email asks for this, report it to us immediately.
