Transferring a Domain vs. Pointing DNS Print

  • 0

Many new customers believe they must transfer their domain registration to Nixzoehost in order to use our Managed WordPress hosting. While consolidating is easier for billing, it is not a technical requirement.

Option A: Pointing DNS (Fast & Flexible)

You keep your domain registered at your current provider (like GoDaddy or Namecheap) but tell the internet to find your website on Nixzoehost servers.

  • How: You simply log in to your registrar and change your Nameservers to:

    • ns1.nixzoehost.com

    • ns2.nixzoehost.com

  • Best For: Users who want their site online immediately or have pre-paid for several years of registration elsewhere.

Option B: Transferring the Domain (Consolidated)

You move the legal registration and the billing of the domain to Nixzoehost.

  • How: You follow the Auth/EPP code process to move the "ownership."

  • Best For: Users who want one bill for both hosting and domain, and those who want to take advantage of Nixzoehosts Free Domain Privacy.
