Managing Trusted Devices
A "Trusted Device" is a specific web browser on a specific computer that our system remembers as "safe." When you mark a device as trusted, you won't be asked for a 2FA code every single time you log in from that specific machine.
How to Trust a Device
-
Log in to the Nixzoehost Client Area as usual.
-
When the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) screen appears, look for a checkbox below the code field that says "Trust this device for 30 days."
-
Check the box and enter your 6-digit code.
-
For the next 30 days, as long as you use the same browser and don't clear your cookies, you will go straight to your dashboard.
When Should You Trust a Device?
-
Safe to Trust: Your personal laptop, your home desktop, or your password-protected office computer.
-
NEVER Trust: Public library computers, shared hotel kiosks, or a friends laptop.
How to Revoke "Trusted" Status
If you lose your laptop or suspect your computer has been compromised, you should immediately revoke the trust status to force a 2FA prompt on the next login attempt.
-
Log in to your Client Area from a secure device.
-
Navigate to Hello, [Name]! > Security Settings.
-
Scroll down to the Trusted Devices section.
-
You will see a button labeled "Deauthorize All Devices" or a list of active sessions.
-
Click to clear the list. This will instantly log out all sessions and require a fresh 2FA code for any future access.
Trusted Device FAQ
| Question | Answer |
| Why am I being asked for 2FA on a trusted device? | If you clear your browser cookies, use "Incognito Mode," or update your browser, the "Trust" cookie is deleted. You will need to trust the device again. |
| How long does the "Trust" last? | By default, Nixzoehost trusts a device for 30 days. After this period, we ask for a fresh code to ensure you still have your device. |
| Can I trust multiple devices? | Yes. You can trust your phone, your tablet, and your laptop simultaneously. |
Managing Sessions & Login History
In the same Security Settings menu, you can view your Recent Login History. This shows:
-
The Date & Time of the login.
-
The IP Address used.
-
The Location (City/Country).
If you see a login from a city you haven't visited or a device you don't recognize, Revoke all trusted devices and change your password immediately.
Nixzoehost Security Rule: Our support team will never ask you to trust a device that doesn't belong to you. Your 2FA codes and trusted status are for your eyes only.
