Adding Tax/Business Information (GSTIN/VAT)
If you are a registered business, you should add your tax ID to your account immediately after signup. This ensures that all future billing documents are legally compliant with your local tax authorities.
Step 1: Access Your Account Details
-
Log in to your Nixzoehost Client Area.
-
In the top navigation bar, click on "Hello, [Name]!" and select Edit Account Details from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Enter Your Tax Information
-
Scroll down to the Payment Details or Additional Information section.
-
Look for the field labeled Tax ID or VAT/GSTIN Number.
-
Enter your official registration number exactly as it appears on your government documents.
-
Pro Tip: Also ensure your Company Name is filled out in the field above, as most tax laws require both the business name and the ID to be present on the invoice.
Step 3: Save and Verify
-
Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
-
To verify, go to Billing > My Invoices and open a recent invoice. Your Tax ID should now appear underneath your address in the "Bill To" section.
| Region | ID Type | Impact on Invoices |
| India | GSTIN | Allows for GST input tax credit claims. |
| Europe | VAT ID | May allow for "VAT Reverse Charge" (0% tax) if you are a verified business. |
| Canada | HST/BN | Ensures compliance with CRA requirements. |
| Other | Tax ID | Provides professional documentation for local business audits. |
For business owners and freelancers, having your tax identification number (such as GSTIN or VAT ID) on your invoices is critical for tax compliance and expense claims. At Nixzoehost, we provide a dedicated field in your profile to ensure these details are automatically applied to every invoice we generate for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I add a Tax ID to an invoice that has already been paid?
Our system does not automatically update past invoices for security and audit reasons. If you need a previous invoice modified, please open a support ticket and our billing team can manually regenerate it for you.
-
Why isn't my Tax ID showing up?
Ensure you clicked "Save Changes" and that you are looking at the PDF version of the invoice. If it still doesn't appear, check if you have a "Sub-Account" or "Contact" set as the primary billing contact, as their info might be overriding yours.
-
Do I need to provide proof of my Tax ID?
In most cases, no. However, for certain regions (like the EU), our system may perform an automated "VIES" validation to ensure the VAT number is active before applying tax exemptions.
