Managing Your Password & Reset Settings
At Nixzoehost, we take account security seriously. Your Client Area password controls access to your websites, billing information, and domain registrations. We recommend changing your password every 90 days and using a unique, complex string of characters.
How to Change Your Password (Logged In)
If you already know your password and simply want to update it:
-
Log in to your Nixzoehost Client Area.
-
Click on the "Hello, [Name]!" dropdown menu at the top right.
-
Select Change Password.
-
Enter your Existing Password.
-
Enter your New Password and confirm it.
-
Tip: Use the "Generate Password" button for a cryptographically strong password.
-
-
Click Save Changes.
How to Reset a Forgotten Password
If you cannot log in, you can trigger a secure reset via your registered email address.
-
Go to the Nixzoehost Login Page.
-
Click the Forgot Password? link below the login fields.
-
Enter your Email Address associated with the account.
-
Check your inbox for a "Password Reset Validation" email.
-
Click the link in the email. You will be redirected to a page where you can enter a new password.
Security Question Settings
For an added layer of protection during the reset process, you can set up a Security Question.
-
In the Client Area, go to the "Hello, [Name]!" menu and select Security Settings.
-
Under the Security Question section, choose a question from the dropdown (e.g., "What was the name of your first pet?").
-
Enter your answer.
-
Important: This answer will be required if you ever need to reset your password or contact support for account changes.
Troubleshooting Login Issues
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
| "Invalid Login Attempt" | Wrong email or password. | Ensure Caps Lock is off. Use the "Forgot Password" link if unsure. |
| Account is Locked | Too many failed attempts. | Our firewall has blocked your IP for 15 minutes. Wait and try again or switch networks. |
| No Reset Email Received | Email is in Spam or wrong address. | Check your Junk folder. Ensure you are using the exact email registered with Nixzoehost. |
| 2FA Code Not Working | Clock desync on your phone. | Ensure your phone's time is set to "Automatic." Codes are time-sensitive. |
Nixzoehost Security Tip: Never share your Client Area password with developers or third parties. Instead, use the "Contacts/Sub-Accounts" feature to give them their own limited access. This allows you to revoke their access at any time without changing your own password.
