It is important to know exactly what happens to your data if a payment is missed. At Nixzoehost, we value your hard work, which is why we dont delete your site the second a subscription expires. Instead, we follow a structured timeline designed to give you every opportunity to keep your business online.
What to Do If Your Subscription Expires
Life gets busy, and sometimes credit cards expire or invoices are missed. If your Nixzoe Managed WordPress subscription reaches its end date without a renewal, your account enters a multi-stage "Cool Down" period.
The Expiry Timeline (The 30-Day Rule)
We follow a strict 30-day lifecycle for expired accounts to balance user safety with server efficiency.
Phase 1: The Grace Period (Days 14)
-
Site Status: ONLINE.
-
What happens: Your website remains fully functional for your visitors. However, you will receive daily "Overdue" email reminders, and a notification will appear in your Client Area.
-
Action: Simply pay the outstanding invoice to return to "Good Standing."
Phase 2: Suspension (Days 529)
-
Site Status: OFFLINE.
-
What happens: Your website will be "Suspended." Visitors will see a standard Nixzoehost landing page stating the account is inactive. You will lose access to your WordPress Admin and SFTP.
-
Is my data safe? Yes. Your files and database are still stored securely on our NVMe drives; they are simply "locked."
-
The Fix: Paying the invoice during this phase will automatically reactivate the site within minutes.
Phase 3: Termination (Day 30)
-
Site Status: DELETED.
-
What happens: After 30 days of non-payment, the system considers the account abandoned. The instance is permanently terminated to free up resources for other users.
-
Can I recover it? At this stage, the data is wiped from the active server. Recovery may only be possible if a legacy off-site backup exists (additional fees may apply).
How to Recover an Expired Subscription
If you find your site is suspended, follow these steps to bring it back:
-
Log in to the Nixzoehost Client Area.
-
Click on the Invoices tile.
-
Locate the "Unpaid" invoice related to your Managed WordPress service.
-
Select your payment method and click Pay Now.
-
Once the transaction is confirmed, our system sends an "Unsuspend" command to the server. Your site should be live again in 5 to 10 minutes.
Preventing Expiration in the Future
| Feature | How it Helps |
| Auto-Renew | Automatically charges your card so you never have to manually pay an invoice. |
| Secondary Payment Method | Add a backup card or PayPal account in Billing > Payment Methods in case your primary card is declined. |
| Annual Billing | Paying for a year at a time reduces the number of invoices you need to track (and usually saves you 2 months' worth of costs!). |
Important Note on Backups: If you decide to let your subscription expire intentionally, please use the Back Up / Restore tool in your dashboard to download a full copy of your site to your local computer before the expiration date. Once an account is terminated (Day 30), we cannot guarantee the availability of your data.
