Data loss can happen for many reasonsa faulty plugin update, an accidental deletion, or a security breach. With Nixzoe Managed WordPress, you have access to an enterprise-grade backup system that requires zero technical knowledge to operate.
Types of Backups at Nixzoehost
-
Automated Daily Backups: Our system automatically takes a full snapshot of your website files and database every 24 hours. These are stored on a separate, secure server.
-
On-Demand Backups: You can manually create a backup at any timeespecially useful right before you install a new theme or make major code changes.
Step 1: Create a Manual (On-Demand) Backup
It is a best practice to take a snapshot before making any significant changes to your site.
-
Log in to your Nixzoehost Client Area.
-
Go to Services > WordPress Management.
-
Click on the Back Up / Restore link in the top menu of your site's dashboard.
-
Click the Create Backup button.
-
Give your backup a name (e.g., "Before installing WooCommerce") and click Create.
Step 2: How to Restore Your Website
If something goes wrong, you can revert your site to a previous state in minutes.
-
In the Back Up / Restore section, you will see a list of available snapshots (both automated and manual).
-
Find the date and time you wish to return to.
-
Click the Restore icon next to that snapshot.
-
Confirm the Restore: You will be asked if you want to restore Files, the Database, or Both. Usually, selecting "Both" is the best way to ensure the site works perfectly.
-
Wait for the process to complete. Your site will be exactly as it was at the moment that backup was taken.
Step 3: Downloading Backups for Offline Storage
While we store your backups securely, you may want to keep a copy on your local computer for extra redundancy.
-
In the same Back Up / Restore list, locate your desired snapshot.
-
Click the Download icon.
-
The system will prepare a
.zipfile containing your entire website. Once ready, the download will begin automatically.
Backup Best Practices for 2026
| Practice | Why it matters |
| Backup before Updates | Even "Smart Updates" can occasionally miss a tiny CSS glitch. A manual backup is your ultimate "Undo" button. |
| Check Backup Health | Occasionally visit the Backup tab to ensure your daily snapshots are running successfully. |
| Don't Rely on Plugins | Server-level backups (like ours) are more reliable and don't slow down your site like WordPress backup plugins do. |
Pro-Tip: If your website is very large (over 20GB), the restoration process may take a few extra minutes. Do not refresh the page while the restore is in progress to avoid corrupting the database sync.
