If you need to cancel your SSL certificate, you can do so directly from your dashboard. Whether you are eligible for a refund depends on how much time has passed since your purchase and the current status of the certificate.

The 2026 Refund Policy

To qualify for a refund, your request must fall within these specific "grace periods" established by the Certificate Authorities:

• Unactivated Certificates: If you bought an SSL but never submitted a CSR or activated it (Status: New), you can request a full refund within 90 days of the purchase date.

• Issued/Active Certificates: If the certificate has already been issued and is active (Status: Active), you must request a cancellation and refund within 15 days of the issuance date.

• Promotional Certificates: Please note that SSL certificates obtained for free as part of a hosting bundle (like the 1-year free PositiveSSL) have no cash value and are not eligible for refunds or account credits.

How to Request a Cancellation and Refund

Follow these steps to initiate the process:

1. Locate your Certificate ID: Log in to your Nixzoehost Client Area, go to Services > SSL Certificates, and copy the unique ID for the certificate you wish to cancel.

2. Contact Support: Because refunds involve financial transactions, they cannot be processed automatically via a "Delete" button. You must open a support ticket addressed to our SSL Sales/Billing department.

3. Provide Details: In your ticket, include:

   • The Certificate ID.

   • The Domain Name associated with it.

   • Your preferred refund method (e.g., return to the original payment source or add as a Nixzoehost Account Credit for future purchases).

Pro-Tip: Choosing "Account Credit" is often the fastest way to get your funds back if you plan on immediately purchasing a different type of SSL certificate.

What Happens After Cancellation?

• Immediate Invalidation: Once the cancellation is processed, the Certificate Authority will revoke the certificate. It will stop working on your website immediately.

• Browser Warnings: If you haven't replaced the certificate with a new one, your visitors will begin seeing "Your connection is not private" errors.

• Processing Time: Refunds to credit cards or PayPal usually take 37 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank's policies.
