TCP/IP Print

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is the "language" of the internet. It is a set of rules that allows computers on different networks to communicate with each other. When you visit your website hosted at Nixzoehost, TCP/IP is the system that ensures the data travels from our servers to your screen correctly.

To make the internet work, this protocol is split into two main parts:

1. TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)

TCP is responsible for delivery and accuracy. It breaks your website's data (like images and text) into small pieces called "packets." Before these packets are shown to a visitor, TCP verifies that every single piece arrived in the right order and without any errors. If a piece is missing, TCP asks the server to send it again.

2. IP (Internet Protocol)

IP is responsible for addressing and routing. While TCP handles the data, IP acts as the "postal service." It uses your server's IP address to ensure those packets of information are sent to the correct destination on the internet.

Current Standards

Most of the internet currently runs on IPv4 (often referred to as the standard 4-number IP format). However, as the web grows, the new IPv6 standard is becoming more common. Nixzoehost infrastructure is designed to support these protocols to ensure your website remains accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Summary: If the Internet is a global highway, IP is the map that shows the way to your website, and TCP is the delivery truck that makes sure the goods arrive safely and in one piece.
